Okay so this has no real significance other than a numerical benchmark. It’s not like by having 100 posts, I’ve somehow found a way to save humanity. But I guess it is cool knowing that I’ve stuck with this for this long. Let’s say we go at least 100 more yeah?
Because I’m very much a fan of numbers and on the real, I do care what other people think of the stuff I put out there, here are my top 3 viewed posts so far:
This one shot up during my 2-month absence from this thing. No one really commented and one of the pictures went down. I guess people quietly hate him too?
What started off as a deep conversation with LFS members ended up being one of my favorite entries. I’m sure after a few more years of doing this work, my list will change. But I felt like I was as honest as possible about my own experiences. That’s something one should always be proud of.
This was also something I put a little bit more effort into. As observers of life, when random events in the world fit together, you have to take the opportunity to connect the dots. I was also glad that I was able to insert something about what was going on in the Phils into this. Always gotta keep things in perspective.
Other random thoughts for this, my 100th entry:
I came out of my social cave and went out with my good friends, Alan and Mike, this past weekend. Okay, so I’ve gone out before, but this time there was no special reason other than listening to good music and dancing. Which were accomplished. Other notable things: I got drive-by broken-off by this bigger Black girl. Very unexpected. But much appreciated. And I did something I normally never do and was by my standards, an accomplishment. But that’s as vague as I’ll leave it.
I’ve been thinking about it for a while and once everything clears up, I find somewhere to live, and I get a part-time job, I’m going to attempt my DJ comeback. I stopped when I was around 16 after going full speed for two years. I went on-and-off since college (my nickname ‘Lylestyles’ came from LFS folks). My ex got me tables, but I never used them. I always felt like DJing was something other people wanted me to do, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do it. Now…I want to give it a try again. I don’t know if anything will come out of it, but I’ll at least have my tables up and running for use.
The projected end date for the Shugashack is April 6th. That’s going to be busy week. Until then, the search for a replacement Shugashack continues.
I bought my 3-day pass for Wondercon a couple weeks ago and I’m hella excited for it. Yes, I’m working on an entry about it.
My 80-gig ipod is on its last wind. I hope to upgrade to a 160-gig sooner than later. I look forward to filling that bad boy up.
I desperately miss my family and I wish I didn’t have to wait until my mom’s bday at the end of April to see them.
That’s it! Happy 100th. More soon to come. Cheers!
